Wilsons Auctions has submitted plans to formalise and expand its vehicle auction operations at the former Shotton Steel site near Hawarden Bridge railway station, including a new auction hall, vehicle storage building and supporting facilities. The proposals relate to the conversion and extension of a former laboratory building at the site, which Wilsons Auctions has owned since 2020. The former laboratory building is considered curtilage listed because of its relationship with nearby heritage features. The proposed extension would use materials intended to complement other buildings on the site, including facing brickwork and stone detailing.
