Councillor David A Bithell, lead member for environment, said: "Our country parks are there for everyone to enjoy, and it’s extremely disappointing to see evidence of fires being lit and trees being damaged. "We would urge everyone visiting our country parks to behave responsibly, leave trees and other vegetation undisturbed, take their litter home, and never light fires or burn materials." The council has reminded the public that fires or disposable barbecues should not be lit in country parks.
