Switzerland has introduced strict rules barring travellers arriving from countries outside the European Union and European Economic Area from carrying certain animal-based foods into the country for personal use in 2026. The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office published the guidance recently, setting out clear restrictions on what may cross the Swiss border when carried by individuals travelling from third countries.
