Telangana Police on Wednesday launched Dial 112, the AI-enabled Telangana Emergency Response Support System (TG-ERSS), positioning it as a unified platform integrating police, fire, ambulance and other emergency services. Launching the new emergency number, Director-General of Police C.V. Anand said 112 would serve as the single point of contact for citizens during emergencies, integrating services related to women’s safety, child protection and disaster response. “Overall call centre processing time has come down from 190 seconds to 133 seconds, an improvement of nearly 30 per cent,” he said. Around 14 lakh calls are received through the interactive voice response system daily18,000 emergency calls are handled and nearly 7,500 incidents are dispatched for field action.
