WARANGAL: Teachers have a vital role in educating students about cybercrimes and protecting them from online fraud, Warangal police commissioner N. Swetha said on Wednesday. Addressing a cyber awareness programme organised by the Central Zone Police under the 'Suraksha Ka Tiranga' campaign at Kaloji Kala Kshetram in Balasamudram, she said cyber frauds were increasing despite growing public awareness. Swetha urged teachers to educate students about the distinction between private and public life and the dangers of sharing personal information and photographs on social media. Earlier, Cyber Crime officials explained the latest methods adopted by cyber fraudsters and the precautions needed to prevent online scams. Later, the commissioner administered a cyber safety pledge to teachers and released awareness posters.
