The 1980 song Yoko Ono called the best of John Lennon: “Almost like Picasso”The year 1980 doesn’t conjure memories of great musical releases for John Lennon fans, who are instead overwhelmed with painful memories of his tragic passing.
Despite what many conspiracy theorists like to speculate about Lennon’s life, this dramatic death wasn’t pre-assigned, nor was it a tortured genius put out of his misery.
The ‘70s were certainly a tough decade for the former Beatle, riddled with substance abuse issues, intense political harassment from the US government and worst of all, a brief separation from his wife, Yoko Ono.
“‘I’m Losing You’ is an incredible song,” she said, “I think as a songwriter, that tops it all.
But it’s almost like Picasso drawing a lot of his wife, because his wife was around.
