CCPO, commissioner lead candlelight vigil to honour police martyrs

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP): Lahore Police and City Traffic Police on Wednesday held a candlelight vigil and peace walk at Liberty Chowk to pay tribute to police martyrs on Police Martyrs’ Day, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Commissioner Lahore Nauman Yousaf, DIG Operations Lahore, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi and other senior officers participated in the ceremony.
As part of the event, a peace walk was held and white pigeons were released as a symbol of peace.
The CCPO lit candles in memory of the police martyrs and said Police Martyrs’ Day was a day to renew the pledge to continue the mission of the fallen heroes.
He said Lahore Police were the custodian of the legacy of brave martyrs whose sacrifices had enhanced the honour and prestige of the department.
