The hometown of nine-year-old Minnie Merriman has been left “in shock” after a man appeared in court accused of her murder. The family lived in the secure gated block which is protected by CCTV and located close to the city centre of Wakefield. Minnie, 9, was found seriously injured at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath in the early hours of Monday morning. Minnie was on a family camping trip at the time, according to officers.
