Simo Valakari believes St Johnstone got the “real” Jamie Gullan back in their opening weekend Premiership win over Kilmarnock. Gullan provided assists for three of Saints’ four goals against Killie – a haul his head coach could not have been happier with. “I was so happy to see the real Jamie back again last weekend. “Set pieces are very important in the Premiership and hopefully we can make them count more regularly this year. “Jamie has shown what he can do with his delivery into the box and that’s going to be important to the team.”
