Four offices in Willamette Hall were broken into over the weekend, according to a University of Oregon alert sent Wednesday.
The suspect allegedly used tools to force their way into the offices and took “musical instruments, clothing, and computer equipment worth about $450,” the alert said.
The UO Police Department does not have any information about the suspect or how they entered the building.
According to the alert, UOPD has increased patrols in and around Willamette Hall and other campus buildings and is asking the UO community to secure doors and valuables, report anything suspicious and “be aware of unfamiliar people in and around offices.”
Willamette Hall houses the Department of Physics and contains “numerous faculty offices, a 224-seat lecture hall, classrooms and laboratories equipped with microcomputers to aid students on data acquisition and analysis,” UO’s website said.
