Austin police say six people have been arrested following an investigation into what detectives describe as an organized criminal operation tied to mail theft, identity fraud, narcotics offenses and firearms violations. Postal Service “Arrow Keys,” stolen bank cards and a journal containing personal identifying information during Landeros’ arrest. Investigators say evidence collected at the scene led them to an apartment on Alpheus Avenue believed to be connected to a larger mail theft and fraud operation. Two days later, officers stopped a vehicle leaving the apartment complex and recovered narcotics, another counterfeit USPS “Arrow Key” and additional evidence tied to mail theft and fraud. Investigators allege the group worked together to steal mail, commit identity fraud and carry out related crimes.
