A YOUNG man from Lerwick has been banned from driving for 12 months and fined £800 after getting behind the while over a drug driving limit. Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said the incident came to light at around 9.30pm when police officers undertook a check on the vehicle. After a drug wipe Youngson was arrested and taken to Lerwick Police Station. However he said the offence has almost been a “positive” in a way given that he sought help afterwards. Sheriff Ian Cruickshank admonished Youngson on a charge of driving with no insurance.
