New AMI 2 meters are expected to provide Utilities Kingston with better measuring and safety features.
KINGSTON — The city’s public utility launched a multi-year program to upgrade electric, water, and gas meters across the city.
The new meters are expected to provide improved measurement and management of electricity, natural gas and water usage.
The meter replacement is not to cost Utilities Kingston any extra fees, however if privately owned equipment needs to be replaced to allow the meters to be installed the homeowner will be required to pay for those repairs.
Homeowners are required to provide access to their residence’s meters to allow the work to take place.
