GOLDTHWAITE – The Texas Botanical Gardens & Native American Interpretive Center, Inc. (TBGNAIC) invites the public to explore one of the most effective—and often misunderstood—tools in land stewardship during The Role of Goats in Central Texas Ecosystems with Dr. Glendon Rhodes on August 15, from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Goldthwaite Pavilion, 1219 Fisher Street, Goldthwaite, Texas.
For centuries, goats have been an important part of Texas agriculture, but their value extends far beyond the pasture.
Understanding these relationships helps landowners, ranchers, conservation professionals, and natural resource managers make informed decisions that support both productive agricultural operations and resilient native ecosystems.
Dr. Glendon Rhoades has spent his career studying rangeland ecology, grazing management, and sustainable agricultural practices throughout Texas.
Attendees will leave with a greater appreciation for the ecological role goats can play in restoring landscapes and supporting healthy, resilient ecosystems across Central Texas.
