Franklin County Commissioners have voted to raise some of the dumping fees at the County Convenience Center. At their work session in July, County Manager Terry Harris said he was notified by the County Public Works Director that the fees on double-axle trailers needed to be increased. Harris said the Convenience Center is losing money because it’s costing more to collect trash from locally owned businesses than they’re paying to dump it. Harris recommended Monday night that the fees for resident double-axle vehicles be increased from $65 to $150, and that the non-resident double-axle vehicle fee be increased to $300. After hearing from Harris, the Board voted unanimously to increase the convenience fees for double-axle vehicles.
