Dalton Daily Citizen
Our Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge has been officially designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It happened a couple of weeks ago at a meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Busan, South Korea.
Experts say that being a World Heritage site should be an economic boon.
Both pro-mining and anti-mining forces have produced studies on the potential impact of mining Trail Ridge, good and bad.
Our Okefenokee is now a World Heritage site.
