A former lawyer in Halifax is facing serious financial charges after police say he misappropriated and stole trust funds.
RCMP first launched the investigation in January 2019 after multiple complaints were filed against Jason Donald Boudrot, 54, and his law firm.
Through the investigation Mounties obtained over a dozen judicial authorizations.
They searched a law office in Halifax in 2021, and began a process of gaining more records.
Now, over seven years since Boudrot was first suspended by the law society, he is charged with:Fraud over $5,000Theft over $5,000Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000Criminal breach of trustThe accused is expected to appear in court to face the offences on Oct. 26.
