Despite the chaos unleashed by the fire, Paarl Hospital demonstrated remarkable resilience. The facility remained operational, only experiencing minor disruptions, primarily to outpatient services. Francois van der Watt, Chief Executive Officer of Paarl Hospital, lauded the collective efforts that led to a swift recovery. Wenger encapsulated the sentiment of the community in her closing remarks, stating, ‘The reopening of this Outpatient Department belongs to every person who contributed to the recovery.
