John McNally, a trustee and stand-in chairman, was delighted to be welcomed to the Scottish Parliament recently after being nominated for the award by Katherine Sangster, MSP for Edinburgh and Lothians East. He said it was an “honour” to meet King Charles III and have a chat with Queen Camilla, and to attend a reception with “likeminded people from all over Scotland” involved in charity work. He explained that, for someone who had never been involved in charity work before, it was an “absolute privilege and honour” to serve the community. Mr McNally urged others to take time out to help out one of their local charities. "John does so much for our community and truly embodies what it means to be a local hero.
