According to police, Charlton was the sole occupant of the plane and died after high-speed impact with the ground. The National Transportation Safety Board said the plane was a 2025 Cirrus SR22T registered to So Fly Aviation LLC in Eugene. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident. “An NTSB investigator is en route to the scene and is expected to arrive this afternoon,” said Sarah Taylor Sulick a spokesperson with the National Transportation Safety Board said on Wednesday. The National Transportation Safety Board is asking those who may have been witnesses to the accident or have information that could be relevant to the investigation to contact the board at witness@ntsb.gov.
