Forty-five years later, that shoestring operation has grown into James Valley Landscape Solutions, one of central South Dakota's largest landscape design, construction and maintenance companies.

Over the decades, James Valley expanded from planting trees and shrubs into retaining walls, patios, outdoor kitchens, irrigation systems and large-scale commercial construction projects.
Rather than relying on wheelbarrows and manual labor, James Valley consistently purchased machinery that reduced wear and tear on employees.
