Proposed homeless shelter causes concerns at Chattanooga City CouncilCHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- A proposed low-barrier homeless shelter caused some concern on the Chattanooga City Council. The Chatt Foundation told members they would like to be able to house up to five hundred homeless individuals at their location on 11th Street. Barron King, the organization’s CEO, says that sheltering unhoused individuals is one of our community’s biggest challenges. King said that more trash cans are needed along 11th Street as they fill up quickly. He added that plans for the shelter are still in design.
