Pittsburgh area hospitals named among region’s best

UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Hospital has been named the second-best hospital in Pennsylvania in U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings.
The hospital also was named the best in the Pittsburgh metropolitan region, and earned national rankings in 10 areas, including cancer, psychiatry, and rheumatology treatment.
Five other hospitals in the Pittsburgh metro region earned recognition as best regional hospitals, including AHN Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, which ranked third, and St. Clair Hospital, an independent regional hospital in Mt.
In Pennsylvania, AHN Allegheny General Hospital ranked 18, tied with three other hospitals, and St. Clair Hospital was tied for 23rd.
Nationally, 505 hospitals were honored as Best Regional Hospitals across 49 states and Washington, D.C.
