The STV weather presenter and ambassador for the Scotland Loves Local campaign is urging nominations for the 2026 Scotland Loves Local Awards, which close on Friday, August 14. Mr Batty said: "The Scotland Loves Local Awards are about celebrating the people and businesses in your community who go above and beyond – as well as the innovation, ambition and determination which is forging a better future for the places we call home. "What better way to celebrate that than nominating them as a High Street Hero?" Now in its sixth year, the programme forms part of the wider Scotland Loves Local campaign, which encourages people to help grow stronger communities by supporting the enterprises, organisations and initiatives in them. The Scotland Loves Local campaign is spearheaded by Scotland’s Towns Partnership with support from the Scottish Government.
