The force responded to a call about a disturbance on Regent Street at around 10.30pm on August 3, sending multiple vans and cars to the scene. However a Police Scotland spokesperson revealed that when officers arrived and began investigating the alleged incident, they were unable to uncover any evidence of criminal behaviour. They added: "Around 10.30pm on Monday, August 3, 2026, we received a report of a disturbance on Regent Street in Greenock. "Officers attended and carried out enquiries. No criminality was established."
