Benton Harbor City Commissioners have voted to seek a renewal of the millage that supports the Dial A Ride bus service this November.
While momentum builds toward the establishment of a countywide transit authority to replace the Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority, the Dial A Ride Millage is set to expire at the end of next year.
Commissioners have been told the millage could continue to support bus services around Benton Harbor once the countywide system is established, and in fact, would be crucial to the new authority.
On Monday, city commissioners without comment approved the ballot proposal.
It would be a 20-year renewal of the millage without an increase paid by taxpayers.
