Emergency services rushed to Crow Lane East, near the junction with Cross Lane, shortly before 6pm on Tuesday. A white Peugeot van and a red MG car were involved in the crash at the junction. A Merseyside Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Fire crews were called to Crow Lane East at the junction of Cross Lane, Newton Le Willows on Tuesday, August 4. "The occupant of the second vehicle was trapped in the vehicle for medical reasons and was assessed by fire crews before NWAS paramedics arrived. "The driver of the van, a man in his 30s,and the MG driver, a woman in her 50s, both sustained minor injuries."
