Editor’s letter: The best part of the jobI frequently tell people one of my favorite parts of working in journalism is that no two days and no two stories are alike. By afternoon, I was interviewing a construction worker at a job site before heading to a city council meeting or community fundraiser. Today, my role also includes editing stories, brainstorming ideas with our staff and helping shape each issue from start to finish. The work looks different, but my favorite part hasn’t changed: I’m still meeting people and hearing their stories. And while every assignment is different, you start to notice a pattern after a while.
