Albert Morton was taken by surprise when residents of the Bel Air Chalet Estate in St Osyth gathered outside his home for an emotional afternoon of thanks and festivities. The idea came from neighbour Janet Ives, but quickly grew into a wider effort involving the whole community. As his age has made some tasks more difficult, the community wanted to show how much they value his “diamond” character and lifelong generosity. Bert was delighted with the ride-on mower, bursting into laughter as he gave it a try.
