The Jersey Tiger moth, once a scarce migrant to the UK, has now been confirmed in the town after residents began spotting the boldly patterned insect on walls, fences and door frames. Manningtree resident Tony Merritt had a close encounter when a Jersey tiger landed by his front door, just as he snapped this photo. With its bold black-and-cream forewings and vivid orange hindwings, the Jersey tiger is hard to miss.
