Matthew McConaughey was one of the first people to congratulate Bijan Robinson on signing his historic contract extension with the Atlanta Falcons. Robinson said Wednesday McConaughey texted him within two minutes of the contract news breaking. The deal, which NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported had a base value of $22.25 million per year, made Robinson the highest-paid running back in NFL history. He described McConaughey as a mentor before the Falcons selected him in the 2023 draft. Robinson, who recorded a career-high 1,478 rushing yards in 17 games for the Falcons last season, had been holding in from training camp amid his bid for a new contract.
