A 55-year-old man has been arrested by police when it was found out that he was keeping the body of his father in a deep freezer for years in order to collect his pension payments. The case was discovered after relatives/neighbors complained to police that they have not seen the old man for years. He initially claimed the elderly man was living in Athens under the care of a woman, but investigators determined that his claims were false. However, local residents told ERT that the elderly man had not been seen in public for more than four years, prompting speculation about his whereabouts. According to an ERT report on Thursday, the first assessment of the medical examiner indicated that the elderly man died of pathological causes.
