The Queen Elizabeth King's Lynn Hospital is urging people to help keep the emergency department available for genuine emergencies and life-threatening conditions only.
A spokesman for King's Lynn Hospital said: "Our emergency department is currently experiencing extremely high demand.
"Please help us keep our emergency department available for those who need it most by only attending or calling 999 for genuine emergencies and life-threatening conditions."
The hospital is, however, asking people with a "serious or life-threatening illness or injury" not to delay in seeking emergency care.
For those seeking care, alternative options include calling NHS 111, contacting your GP practices, and speaking to someone at a community pharmacy.
