Knox County's new EMA Director, Amy Seward, made her first presentation to the Knox County Board of Commissioners at its July 30 meeting after her promotion to the position. She said that "getting her feet wet" included holding a tabletop exercise with school administrators, law enforcement, and first responders. The Knox County Sheriff's Office as well as Mount Vernon and Fredericktown Police Departments also participated. Rick Lanuzza is now director of Knox County 911 after Laura Webster retired. Seward added that EMA is working on an improved debris management plan prompted by experiences following a tornado in Logan County.
