Knox County Garden Clubs will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a floral exhibition during the Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival, August 14–16. The Flower Show, “Celebrating America’s 250 With Floral Designs,” will be held at The Living Center, 201 North Main Street, two blocks north of the Square. On July 8, Jo Ann Graham and Audrey Spearman hosted an Artistic workshop at The Living Center, offering tips on mechanics, demonstrating designs, and answering questions about requirements. Participants practiced with containers, floral foam, and plant material to refine entries for Sections E and F of the show schedule. The exhibition will showcase imaginative floral designs that link Knox County’s gardening heritage with the broader narrative of American history.
