The Heath‑Newark‑Licking County Port Authority has committed more than $1.8 million to STEM learning initiatives, including a new $1 million scholarship program at COTC and Ohio State Newark. The Port Authority announced the investment in Licking County, Ohio, as part of its long‑standing support for science, technology, engineering and math education. The $1 million STEM scholarship was unveiled on October 1, 2021, at the Newark campus, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Newark Air Force Base closure and the creation of the Port Authority. This commitment was emphasized in remarks from a Port Authority board member. The Newark campus Financial Aid Office will provide more information to applicants.
