Fixture: Burkina Faso v South AfricaScore: 0-1Goalscorers: Kgatlana (21')After a dramatic come-from-behind draw against the Ivory Coast on Friday, Banyana needed nothing but a win to progress further in the tournament having recorded just one point coming into the final game against Burkina Faso, who only needed a draw to advance. However, Banyana overcame the scare inside the opening-quarter of the first half and took the lead after Thembi Kgatlana latched on the end of a through-ball from Fikile Magama in the box and finished past the diving Dabilougou Nina. However, Banyana bounced back very swiftly and nearly doubled their lead ten minutes later when Isabella Ludwig mis-judged a low square ball from the right-side and missed a gaping goal. In the end, Banyana secured the all-important victory and advanced to the knockout stages alongside the Ivory Coast from Group B.
