(Sunset, Louisiana) - Officers with the Sunset Police Department were called out Wednesday morning to rescue a child locked in a vehicle. KLFY News 10 reports that the child was locked in the vehicle for approximately ten minutes before officers were notified. Because the vehicle was parked in a shaded area, the child, who was locked in it, was never subjected to extreme temperatures. It reportedly took a team effort for officers to gain access to the child in the vehicle, but they were finally able to reach the child and remove her from the locked vehicle. If you do lock your child in the vehicle, authorities say to never wait and call 911 immediately.
