A trio of Texas A&M University-Victoria men’s golfers represented the Jaguars on a bigger stage last month. Charlie Ward, Ethan Armendarez and Brandon Gratton competed in three summer amateur tournaments, including a pair of national amateur competitions. Ward turned in the best finish of the trio, making the match play rounds of the Welsh Men’s Amateur Championship at Prestatyn Golf Club in Prestatyn, Wales, July 27-31. The junior shot rounds of 71 and 80 to make the cut of 32 golfers who advanced to the matchplay rounds.
