Wedgewood and her family had been living outside, and no one from the home paid any attention to her leg which was completely degloved. And even through the pain, Wedgewood continued to nurse and care for her huge litter. Neighbors were disgusted, and when their pleas to the property owners to take care of the mother dog’s leg were ignored, the police became involved. Upon entering the clinic, Wedgewood was administered pain medication and preventative to ward off the fleas and ticks all over her body. Seven of her puppies are still waiting at the shelter for foster homes to open and come get them.
