POLICE Scotland has urged the public to remain vigilant after an elderly woman from Fife lost £33,000 in a phone scam.
A 73 year-old woman from Cupar was the victim of a scam which saw her lose £33,000.
A similar incident occurred recently in East Wemyss, where a 94 year-old woman lost £1,000 to scammers.
Police Scotland has warned the public after the spike in scams in Fife.
Reputable companies will never contact you and ask you to transfer or withdraw money, neither will banks.
