I winced as soon as I heard her say that Black women are “the most educated demographic in this country.” The claim that Black women are “the most educated demographic in this country” comes from intraracial statistics that show Black women outpace Black men within higher education, as previously reported by NewsOne. Data compiled by the National Center for Education Statistics show that Black women have actually made extraordinary educational gains. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Black women consistently have among the highest labor-force participation rates of any group of women in the country. In June 2026, the rate was 61.3% for Black women, compared with 56.5% for white women.
