Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano reaffirmed that the county has no plans to sell or privatize the Wicomico County Nursing Home, despite recent public discussion on the issue. Giordano noted that any sale or privatization would require County Council approval and said no such effort is underway. Instead, she said the county is focused on supporting the nursing home’s long-term stability by assisting with financial and personnel operations at the request of the facility’s new director, with the goal of ensuring it remains safe, secure, and financially sustainable. She adds that her administration will continue working collaboratively with the nursing home’sleadership, staff, residents, and families to provide the support necessary for itscontinued success.
