The next county mayor will take office September 1. Voters will be casting ballots in the DeKalb County General Election, municipal elections in Smithville, Dowelltown, Liberty, and Alexandria, and the Tennessee Republican and Democratic Primaries. The winner on Thursday will face the Republican nominee and independent candidates for governor in the November General Election. Hale and Hawthorne will face off in the November General Election. In the state Republican Primary for State Executive Commiteeman in District 16 are David Alexander, Jerry Anderson, and Greg Sandlin.
