Lucid’s upcoming “mid-size” Cosmos SUV, which it had said would come out later this year, will now not launch until at least 2027. Lucid just filed its Q2 earnings report today, announcing a wider-than-expected loss and a slight miss on revenue. The company declined to update its 2026 guidance, with its new CEO touting an “operational reset” to try to improve the company’s financial standing. It turns out that skepticism was warranted, as alongside the Q2 results, Lucid’s new CEO Silvio Napoli said the Cosmos isn’t coming until next year. So suggesting that Cosmos could go from a silhouette to public sales within the same calendar year was questionable to begin with.
