Bill on feasibility study at South County Center introduced to County Council

A bill regarding the preparation of a feasibility study for repurposing the South County Center mall into a sports complex and event center was introduced at the St. Louis County Council’s July 28 meeting.
The mall, 18 S. County Center Way, has seen steadily declining foot traffic for years, leading to the closure of its second floor.
Per bill language, the study is to be performed by the CVC, or its designee, for use by the Department of Planning.
“The feasibility study is to identify if the South County Mall is a good location for a complex,” Tony Artman, Archer’s legislative assistant, said.
“The next step was doing a (Request for Proposal) for the feasibility study.
