The NBA had a bombshell dropped on them at the beginning of last season when Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, among others, was indicted on federal charges stemming from an illegal gambling probe.
Rozier was placed on indefinite leave throughout the entirety of the 2025-26 season, and then was eventually waived before the start of the postseason.
As Terry Rozier awaits trial, which is scheduled to begin in February 2027, a childhood friend of his, Deniro Laster, and co-defendant in the case, was recently accused of violating terms of his bail by contacting co-defendants and potentially trying to intimidate witnesses, as per Tom Schad of ESPN.
Amid the new developments, prosecutors in the case were asking the court to revoke Laster’s bail and remand him to custody while awaiting trial.
