This was the night that a brazen attempt to kill Colonel-General Aleksandr Chayko, the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS), and a coterie of senior military and intelligence officials almost succeeded.
Russian investigators suggested this courier may not have known she was transporting explosives and said the device was detonated remotely.
Dangerous Security Blind SpotsYesterday, 4 August, a well-known Russian expert in Washington pointed out in an analytical commentary how whoever is responsible for the incident is exposing a serious and “dangerous security blind spot, giving adversaries like Ukraine greater opportunities to target the Kremlin’s military elite.”
