Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson says squad number-assigned defensive talent Joel Okhuoya has a “big future” after revealing the teenager has returned to training with his first-team after a recent “health scare”. The Dons published their 2026/27 squad numbers before Saturday’s last-gasp Premiership season-opening victory over Hearts at Pittodrie, with Okhuoya assigned the number 56. Of the handful of youth academy-developed youngsters on the squad list, Okhuoya, 16, is likely the name supporters will be least familiar with. Robinson says he has been “really impressed” with “big, strong” and “very, very quick” Okhuoya. “That’s difficult right now as you’re building a squad really from scratch and starting again.
