A hydrogen plant planned for a hillside overlooking the Cromarty Firth has been approved despite local concerns water supplies could be lost.
The Cromarty Hydrogen Project is a 15 megawatt hydrogen production facility on the hillside of 1800ft Cnoc Muigh-bhlàraidh that overlooks Alness, Invergordon, and Tain.
They have taken over the entire Storegga portfolio, which includes the Cromarty Hydrogen project and a similar plant in Speyside.
The previous developer had an agreement with Scottish Power to supply power directly to the hydrogen plant – skipping the grid entirely.
